A warm sunny day in June in the year 2000. Sitting in a crowded and lively ballpark in lower downtown Denver. I was offered and slowly accepted my first real cup of beer. The sweaty plastic cup held a cold and frosty brew. I had no idea that this introduction at the age of 18 by Bill (my blogging compatriot and friend) and Eli would lay the foundation for my interest in the art and craft of great beers. I don’t know if the Rockies won or lost that game, not that it mattered much. I had spent the three or so hours of American tradition learning to drink the great American beverage.
Butte, MT. born and Denver CO. suburbs raised I have grown up around mountains and a large beer culture. I spent much of my 20’s rolling through case after case of whatever macro brew I could cheaply procure at The University of Colorado Boulder(Go Buffs). I brewed my first batch of beer in 2005 and started to become interested in the ingredients and process of brewing.
I have traveled to Las Vegas well over 15 times and had beers in bars from coast to coast. I have always been a fan of the Stout style and enjoy the stories told on the scratches and scrawls on an old wooden bar top.
